According to the public relations report of the Wave and Coral Hamoon Institute, in a meeting on December 12, 1403, with the presence of Engineer Mirkazehi, Deputy Director of Development of the Chabahar Free Zone Organization, Engineer Sadeghi, Head of the Environmental Department of the Chabahar Free Zone Organization, Engineer Ashraf Ali Hosseini, Head of the Environmental Protection Department of Chabahar City, and Dr. Mahmoud Mahmoudi Sinai, Academic and Environmental Advisor of the Chabahar Free Zone Organization, Environmental Research, Chabahar Free Zone, and NGOs, a plan was held in the meeting hall of the Deputy Director of Development of the Chabahar Free Zone to plant one billion trees and mangrove forests in the Makran coastal area.



In this meeting, Engineer Mirkazehi emphasized the need for necessary coordination between departments and officials, as well as non-governmental organizations, and added: Preparations should be made to provide the standard seedlings required for planting, conduct studies and coordinate to identify and announce suitable areas in the mangrove habitat for planting seedlings, and plan and take measures. He also appreciated and thanked the effective and valuable measures of the Beikran Hasti Mehr Institute in the field of producing mangrove seedlings and native species in the region.

Engineer Ashraf Ali Hosseini added in this meeting: Mangrove plants are a collection of trees and shrubs that are distributed in the tidal zone, in tropical and subtropical regions of the world, and the mangrove ecosystem and mangrove forests are also distributed and live along the coasts of Sistan and Baluchestan province. In line with the development of heavy industries, the need to manage and monitor mangrove habitats should be considered and emphasized by the relevant authorities.

In this meeting, Engineer Sadeghi also added, in line with the lofty goals of the Chabahar Free Zone Organization in the field of mangrove forest restoration, that development and measures taken to restore and reconstruct mangrove forest habitats are carried out every year, and a series of protective measures have been taken by the organization and other bodies, as well as non-governmental organizations, with the aim of increasing the value of the area of ​​mangrove forests in the region. However, in this regard, efforts are needed and multi-year programs are presented to restore the mangrove ecosystem.



At the end of this meeting, at the request of Engineer Mirkazehi, Deputy Director of Development of the Chabahar Free Zone Organization, in order to present a study plan and capacity assessment for the restoration of the mangrove ecosystem in the estuaries of the region, the Hamoon Wave and Coral Institute, as an active organization in the environmental field on the coasts of Makran, was given the opportunity to conduct a study plan using the capacity of experts in this field and submit it to the Chabahar Free Zone Organization within a specified time period.
